Not far from the centre of Hässleholm you will find a unique combination of history and future, of nature and adventure.

At Hovdala and Mölleröd recreation areas you will find historic monuments from the Stone Age, easy walking trails, riding tours and exciting challenges in a variety of natural settings.At the heart of the area is Hovdala Manor House, a site of national cultural heritage, and the Hovdala Tree House sways among the beech trees on the shore of Lake Finjasjön, providing a modern counterpoint.

Follow the Finjasjöleden trail around one of Skåne´s biggest lakes with wetland forest and a bird tower, Slingra Dig, designed by an architect as a platform. Or choose between any of the shorter trails, Caspers slinga and Dammslingan, covering 4,2 km and 2,9 km respectively. The Skåneleden trail "north to south" crosses the areas.

At Hovdala hovslinga you are welcome to ride a horse or drive a horse-drawn carriage along excellent forest tracks, 8 or 12 km. Hovdala hundslinga is a 6 km activity trail on wich you and your dog can go on a playful walk together and exercie using the natural features of the site. In the forests around Hovdala and Mölleröd there are excellent MTB trails and possibilities to go geocaching or fishing.

Discover the natural grounds around Hovdala castle with the help of your smartphone! Search for the app "History without borders" in Appstore/Google play. The app tells of a history from the 17th century when Scania became Swedish. Tricky quiz questions lure children into activity in the hunt for silver coins.
